Boston Light & Power LLC ("Boston Light & Power," "we," "us," or "our") operates bostonlightandpower.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our site or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Boston Light & Power is the current name of the business formerly operating as Harborside Electric LLC.

    Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a form, request an estimate, call, or text us, we collect the information you provide. That typically includes your first and last name, phone number, email address, service address or city, the type of electrical work you need, whether the job is residential or commercial, whether it is an emergency, your preferred contact time, and anything you write in the message field.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time spent on the site, and the page or search that referred you. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from calls and messages. Phone calls to and from the numbers listed on our site may be logged for scheduling and record-keeping. We do not record phone calls. Text message conversations are stored in our customer records.

    How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

    • Respond to your inquiry and schedule, quote, and perform electrical work
    • Contact you by phone, text, or email about your request or an active job
    • Send appointment reminders, invoices, and service follow-ups
    • Ask for a review after a completed job
    • Keep records required for licensing, permitting, insurance, warranty, and tax purposes
    • Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
    • Protect against fraud, abuse, and misuse of the site

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

    Text messages and calls

If you give us your phone number, you agree that we may contact you at that number by phone and by text message about your service request, including through automated messaging. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of marketing or reminder texts does not stop us from contacting you directly about an active job. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of purchasing any service.

    Email

If you contact us or become a customer, we may email you about your job and occasionally about services, seasonal safety reminders, or promotions. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional emails about an active job or invoice are not marketing and may still be sent.

    Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. We use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies and collects usage data on our behalf. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Our website chat and contact forms are powered by a third party customer relationship platform, which stores the information you submit so we can respond to you.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

    Who we share information with

    We share information only with:

Service providers who work on our behalf, such as our website host, our customer relationship and messaging platform, analytics providers, payment processors, and our marketing agency. They may use your information only to provide services to us.

Subcontractors or suppliers when it is necessary to complete your job, and only what is necessary.

Authorities or others when required by law, a subpoena or court order, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.

A successor if the business is sold, merged, or reorganized.

    How long we keep information

We keep customer and job records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal, tax, insurance, warranty, and licensing obligations, generally at least seven years after the last job. Website analytics data is kept on the retention schedule set in our analytics account.

    Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access-controlled accounts and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    Your choices and rights

    You may:

    • Ask what personal information we hold about you
    • Ask us to correct information that is wrong
    • Ask us to delete your information, unless we are required to keep it
    • Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message
    • Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts
    • Ask us not to call you

To make a request, email ryan@bostonlightandpower.com or matt@bostonlightandpower.com or call (857) 855-7899. We will respond within a reasonable time, and within any period required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
